December 2025 Honoree
Daniel Verde, RN
Daniel Verde, RN, CVICU, was nominated for going above and beyond for a patient in distress.
Daniel received a patient from the Emergency Department who was clearly scared and anxious about her situation. She told Daniel that she thought she was dying and was very concerned about her oxygen levels. On top of that, her family had to leave to tend to other family matters. Daniel recognized how hard this was for the patient so he prayed with her, ordered her food and kept clear communication by explaining her treatments and why they would help her.
“Daniel was greatly aware and sensitive to the situation. His CVICU patient needed prioritization, commitment, and compassion. Daniel's actions exuded these needs,” says the nominator. “He showed true compassion by continuing to listen to her with genuine interest. She smiled, and you could tell she was consoled by all his actions.”
Thank you, Daniel, for your dedication to your patients.
