Daniel has been a part of my life since I was 21 years old. Since deciding to pursue nursing, he has worked harder than anyone I know to not only pass his classes but to learn how to be an excellent nurse and caregiver. He has a heart for the patients he interacts with and is more than willing to advocate for them when they need an advocate.

He also recently went to the grocery store and bought food for a coworker of mine who was at the hospital with her daughter and her grandson, who was admitted as a patient (he’s 10 months old). I received a text from my coworker who said that Daniel had stayed and visited with her grandson and also asked about how his care had been since he was admitted. She and her daughter were both extremely grateful and were moved to tears by his kindness. I want to recognize him for how seriously he takes not only his education but also for how he listens to and understands patients and their needs.
