Daniela came to HHC with lots of enthusiasm and positivity that touched the lives of her patients as well as her colleagues. She is a living example of a survivor that inspires patients who are suffering, tired and hopeless. Like a beacon that gives her patients will to fight and continue on living despite their hardship and condition.
Daniela has a very lively demeanor even during the moments wherein she is receiving her chemotherapy treatment. She didn't stop and kept on inspiring her colleagues and patients who are suffering from similar illness. She utilizes her own struggle to motivate her patients, she understands and applies compassion in caring for her patients. Daniela is a patient, a nurse, a friend, an educator, an eager learner thriving for a supportive HHC environment. She advocates to provide comfort to her palliative patients, ensuring pain free and living a quality of life possible for each patient case. Daniela is a supportive person for family members and gives them encouragement by teaching them ways to ease patient pain and suffering.
Daniela's caring virtues are not measured by her lack of Arabic communication skills. She exerts a lot of effort to improve her language skills utilizing various resources like using google translator and asking for help from her Arabic speaker colleagues to fully understand and provide better care to her patients.
She is not afraid to face challenges and ask for assistance. She works well as a part of a team and is able to work independently with integrity and expertise in carrying out nursing procedures. Daniela is easy to work with and recognizes the efforts of her colleagues to improve the HHC service, she voluntarily steps up to take responsibility to make the "HHC recognition of Staff" project possible. She is honest yet not confrontational in resolving conflict issues among the staff.
Daniela's professional growth and development is relevant to her practice and advancing it by joining the preceptor workshop and change of leadership that would be very helpful for future bigger roles for her nursing career.
Daniela's kind heart to render care makes her our "best palliative staff in HHC". She never fails to involve herself to improve delivery of care through collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. She actively participates in palliative collaborative meeting that promotes patient and family welfare. Daniela is a valued member of the team an asset to the unit.
