My mom’s nurse Daniella went above and beyond to make my mom feel comfortable, loved, seen, heard, and warm. My mom is currently having life-altering surgery for a below-the-knee leg amputation. Daniella stayed in her room before her surgery and hugged my mom for so long, they cried and, laughed together, and she made my mom feel so cared for during her visit. She respected our family as a big group of us prayed together before my mom was wheeled back to the OR. She comforted my mom during one of the scariest and unknown moments of her life and to make someone feel seen and cared for is an unreachable invaluable gift. Daniella was born to be a nurse. Coming from a fellow nurse, I can tell when someone just cares for their patients unconditionally. Thank you, Daniella, for being the nurse every patient deserves. Feeling so blessed to have Daniella as our nurse. I couldn’t think of any better person to have been the friendly face before one of the biggest days of my mom’s life. Daniella is the definition of what The DAISY Award was created for.
