Danielle was nominated by a patient who wrote that she took care of not only his physical needs but his emotional needs as well. The patient was in anguish and extreme pain from bladder cancer and related surgery and felt like giving up. Danielle saw his emotional needs, at that time, were more important than his physical needs and would spend time talking with him and just being by his side. The patient said that she gave him a purpose to go on and a reason to live.
