Dear all wonderful people that work in the medical field, I hope you know how much of an impact you have on us. The ER nurse at MMC, Danielle, gave an octopus to S and he sleeps with it every night. We still speak about how wonderful her care was. We look forward to seeing our nurses at UNM. They make us feel so welcomed and at ease even though we are going through this crappy situation. S told me this morning that he can’t sleep without his octopus because he’s scared, and it protects him. I guess you can say, we kinda love you all. I tried explaining this to my friend who is a nurse and I just broke down crying. Thank you for taking care of us. Thanks for keeping us in check and informed. Thanks for all you do to make families feel a bit at ease when everything feels so scary. There’s so much that you all do that you probably don’t get any appreciation for. We hope to show our gratitude for all you’ve done.
