Danielle consistently demonstrates exceptional dedication and compassion in her care, particularly for patients and families experiencing fetal loss or neonatal comfort care. Her passion for supporting these families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives is both evident and inspiring.
Danielle builds strong, trusting relationships with families and ensures that every member of the care team is aligned with the patient's plan of care. Even on days when these families are not assigned to her, she makes a point to check in and offer support.
Her commitment extends beyond the bedside; she has taken ownership of organizing and maintaining all our fetal demise supplies, ensuring they are fully stocked and accessible, and she trains other staff members in their use with care and sensitivity.
Danielle has also taken the initiative to establish a partnership with Bodie's Light Box, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting grieving families. Through this collaboration provides meaningful remembrance items and thoughtful ideas to help families honor and remember their infants, offering a lasting source of comfort during their time of loss.
In addition to the support she provides to families, Danielle is also a valued resource for staff. Her knowledge, empathy, and calm presence offer guidance and reassurance to team members navigating these emotionally challenging situations. Whether she is offering practical help, emotional support, or helping others understand how to provide compassionate care, Danielle is always there to lead by example.
In a recent case where an infant was placed on comfort care, Danielle even offered to come in when the baby was expected to pass, simply to ensure the family was supported and everything was in place. She does this not because she is asked, but because she genuinely cares.
Danielle truly embodies the Caregiver Commitment, treating everyone with profound respect and compassion. Compassion-defined as a deep awareness of another's suffering paired with a desire to help is at the core of her actions.
