This past week we received a call in the ER that we were receiving a pediatric code. This situation obviously makes emotions run high. Danielle immediately went into the room and started preparing for the patient to arrive, not even knowing if they would be her patient. She developed a good rapport with the patient's family and was a great comfort to the mother. This situation was emotionally overwhelming for all involved and while tears were shed, Danielle remained professional and compassionate throughout the whole process. This is not the first time that I have witnessed Danielle take over and be a total Rockstar at her job. We should all strive to be role models like Danielle, not only in this scenario but how she operates every day!

On Labor Day, there was an infant death. Danielle was very compassionate and willing to help with grief support for the family. She wanted to learn and jumped right in to assist collecting memories for the grief-stricken family. This is a prime example of how we all work together to provide the very best care and support to all patients and families. Very proud to have worked alongside her and appreciated her engagement in grief support. A huge thank you to Danielle and so much gratitude to have her as one of ours.

Danielle has all of the qualities that encompass an exceptional nurse. She is the first to jump in and say, "I will take that patient" despite any circumstances. From Traumas to codes, she doesn't hesitate and her performance is exceptional. Danielle has 3 beautiful children and recently just returned from maternity leave. Recently we had a pediatric code on a child. This child was similar in age to her youngest. Danielle stepped in and took the patient. This was a long and difficult code for everyone. I spoke with Dr. K about this code. He praised Danielle as being "spot on". He said her skills were exceptional, as always, and she did such a fantastic job, not only with the patient but with the family as well. Danielle has worked several of our pediatric codes this year and she is a very strong person. I wanted to follow up with her the next day just to make sure she was doing ok. She said it was difficult but that she was doing well.
