Danielle Walker Danielle came to the COVID clinic as relief during one of the redeployments in 2021. She was a true blessing, not only to us, but to our patients. She jumped in helping as if she was there all along and never skipped a beat. She expanded her patient ratio when needed (from 3:1 up to 5:1), took care of very sick patients, advocated for them, truly cared about them, and rejoiced in their progress. She is a great example of Ochsner Core Values. One patient required extra time and attention. The patient raved about her care from Danielle to the physician, the charge nurse and to the nurse herself. She always listened to her concerns, advocated for her, and knew about her likes and dislikes. They built a relationship over the days she was here. Her care and compassion were refreshing to see. On the day the patient left, the nurse was thrilled to see her finally be able to go home and said, “I am sad to see her go but thrilled she’s going home to her babies.”
