Danielle was recognized by a co-worker for caring for an elderly patient who lives alone with her pet parrot. While in the hospital, the patient was so concerned about the parrot being home alone that she couldn’t focus on her own recovery and healing. Danielle offered to check on the parrot, and the next morning the patient received an uplifting phone call from Danielle with news that her beloved pet was well. Danielle not only replenished the food and water, but she also sent a picture of the beautiful pink parrot to reassure the patient her that feathered friend was doing well.
