Her words were positive as she saw me trying to walk or stand with little assistance. She’d tell me how proud she was of my effort. She has done so much for me and encouraged me not to give up.
I am writing to commend Nurse Dani Larson, RN, in section 14400, for her extraordinary efforts to provide service to my son. I believe she was working as the Charge Nurse at that time. D is disabled and had been in the hospital for several days to receive bowl prep, a colonoscopy, and plus a GI procedure that day. We needed wheelchair transportation for him to go back to the assisted living facility. Transportation had been ordered early that afternoon and was supposed to arrive between 3:00 and 6:45. They kept pushing the time back and she was doing everything she could to get a vehicle there. Rather than leave at 7:00 she stayed on to keep trying to get transportation for him. It did not arrive until almost 11:00 that night and then could not take his wheelchair. I drove down to get the wheelchair and she brought it down to my car. She continued to keep me updated throughout the entire time and said she wouldn't have left until she knew he would be able to get home. That is an amazing commitment to service at a time when I know all nurses have been working incredibly hard. I want to call your attention to someone who went above and beyond what she would normally be required to do. I am extremely grateful to her.

My journey with Danni started with a smile in June 2022 and ever since she has caused me to smile no matter what my pain level was, I found a smile on my face. Her positive attitude brought me such relief. Even when leaving the room, she reminded me to smile, and I did. Her words were positive as she saw me trying to walk or stand with little assistance. She’d tell me how proud she was of my effort. She has done so much for me and encouraged me not to give up. She made sure I was okay and if I needed anything throughout the day and night. She is a wonderful nurse, and it has been a pleasure having her as my nurse. Only with a smile and kindness has she touched my life. Thank you, Danielle, I will always think of you and your smile.

Danielle goes above and beyond when caring for me. She treats me like a human being rather than just a patient. She always checks on me every few minutes. My favorite thing about Dani is that she always reminds me to keep smiling. Dani always reminds me that everything will be okay to calm my nerves down, especially during blood draws – she is very reassuring. Dani is a mother figure to me and reminds me to eat, shower, and feel better!
***
Dani is a wonderful person and does a good job while always multitasking. She can take care of multiple patients while training multiple students and multiple problems all at the same time.
Note: This is Dani's 2nd DAISY Award!
