I had my second cataract surgery at St. Vincent. The whole team was excellent, but I would like to recommend Danielle for outstanding service. She went above and beyond in terms of making me comfortable and giving me information.

For example, when we noted the bruise on my right hand from the IV inserted two weeks ago, we decided together to use my left hand and actually moved the IV higher up near the wrist, which should give less of a bruise. She spent a fair amount of time getting the IV exactly right and without any pain at all.

She also checked my glucose level, as she saw I was pre-diabetic. So she checked it and reassured me. Furthermore, realizing that I didn't want to use a wheelchair, she walked me to the exit and waited until my friend arrived with her car for my pickup.

Yet another detail: she taped the exterior tape to my folder-a sweet little detail. Plus she laughed at my jokes. Plus, when I asked her about her work and her family, she answered with just enough info to put me at ease and to get to know her a bit better.

So, I nominated her for the DAISY Award with no hesitation and complete confidence.
