Danielle took care of a very challenging patient on the Ace unit one evening and did a smashing job of it. Danielle sat with her in the hall, bought her snacks, and played games with her while doing her charting. The next evening Danielle received a PTO but came in any way for two hours to calm the patient who had become fearful, agitated, and aggressive. She even wore her uniform, thinking the patient would respond to her better in familiar clothing. Danielle volunteered to do this with no expectation of being paid.
