Today is day 25 of our stay here at Seattle Children's, so we have interacted with a lot of staff members in our last 3+ weeks here. I wanted to recognize Danielle Slatt for her excellence in care. She has gone above and beyond to provide care and comfort for our family and has made our hospital stay so much better. She is friendly, polite, respectful and very encouraging and reassuring even with things that may scare us. She is a skilled teacher who is clearly passionate about her job and setting families up for success when they leave the hospital. She treats people with respect, even in difficult situations and exudes grace and confidence as she works. We are so thankful we had the chance to receive care from her; we truly feel like she cares for us as a family, not only our son as a patient. Her skills and attitude have brought us much comfort during our time here, more so than any of the other nurses we have had the privilege of receiving care from.
We are thankful for all the care we have received from the team here at Seattle Children's, but Danielle stands out above the rest to provide exemplary care for us, and we hope she may receive recognition for a job well done - and everything she has done above and beyond her job description to care so well for our family.

My baby was in the best care with Danielle. She made sure she was happy as a clam. She is very sweet and a hard-working nurse. She will do anything to make sure you and your baby are happy. If I could have her every day I would because she is that good.

Danielle's love and compassion for my son are what makes me appreciate her so much. She knows what he likes and what soothes him when he is upset and goes above and beyond to make him happy. Danielle is just amazing. She takes care of my son with such compassion and love, from soothing him while he is sleeping to playing with him while he is awake. She goes above and beyond the nursing duties and connects with my son. She also always makes sure I am okay and is always asking if there is anything she can do for me. She has made our journey so much easier and I am so grateful for everything that she is done.
