Dani, thank you for making plays! Thank you for being a familiar voice in a scary situation & being so encouraging.
My husband had a routine procedure done locally. His lungs, heart & kidney transplant teams are at the U of I & his lung team is who oversees his immunosuppressants. They knew he was having this procedure done as they gave us the prep to follow. The routine procedure did not go as planned & the facility needed to know how or what to do to proceed. I knew the best option was to reach out to his lung team. Dani was the coordinator covering for transplant that day. She answered right away, was a calm familiar voice on the phone & said she would call the doctor who wasn't in clinic yet. From that moment on, the doctor got EVERYTHING lined up for my husband, from letting the facility know what medications he needed there before transfer, to transfer, to getting things lined up with a surgeon & meeting my husband at the U of I's ER upon arrival as a familiar face. Dani kept in close contact, keeping me updated as to what the plan was before transfer & when we'd arrive at the U of I. She let me know I could reach out at any time for any other questions or concerns that came up. Dani, thank you for making plays! Thank you for being a familiar voice in a scary situation & being so encouraging. I think we could have had a different outcome if it wasn't for you & taking the reins to get in touch with his transplant doctor. We cannot thank you enough for your help during that time! We will forever be grateful to you for your help!
