A young woman new to the U.S. was in labor with a child who had been conceived in her home country during a sexual assault.The young woman was frightened, ashamed, and uncertain of her future.Danielle took over the nursing care for this woman and showed the most kindness, respect, and love to the patient.Even though Danielle was only to work a 4-hour shift, she did not leave until the patient delivered.The calm bedside manner and care she provided was excellent. She displayed the utmost of excellence in nursing care and compassionate care, and she really displayed her commitment to her patient. Through her words and actions, Danielle provided this young patient comfort, respect, and understanding, things the patient most desperately needed during this trying time.
