Daphne Feinour, RN
A patient was being prepped for their endoscopy procedure and was extremely apprehensive about the IV start. The unit was very hectic and without needing to be asked, Daphne jumped in and spoke with the patient about the procedure and IV start. With her uplifting, caring manner she started the patient’s IV, relieved his anxiety and made him and his family very comfortable. A few days later, during another hectic day in SPU, the charge nurse was being pulled in different directions. Sensing the tension, Daphne stayed in SPU throughout the morning supporting the charge nurse emotionally, mentally, and physically. Daphne is upbeat and uplifting. She recognizes when a job is well done and supports her staff at all times. She encourages teamwork and a healthy work environment. Daphne doesn’t back down and always finds a way to solve a problem – big or small. I feel very blessed to have Daphne as my manager. She has taken the time to get to know all of us. We never feel abandoned no matter the situation.
