My dad is having a very difficult time right now, he has a bad hip on his left leg, which we are in the process of having replacement surgery. Before we could get that surgery scheduled, my dad got a diabetic ulcer that was not healing. We had to put the hip surgery on hold for him to have foot surgery to correct his toes. This surgery will enable his ulcer to heal and prevent future ulcers. Darby was my dad’s post-op nurse, and she was excellent, professional and compassionate. We had a lot of trouble getting my dad in the car after his surgery, he started to fall because his leg buckled due to a nerve block. Darby not only did not allow my dad to fall, but also took the time to explain to me and my mom as to what we needed to do to get him safely in the house once we got home. Darby gave us time and patience to understand what we needed to do. Not only that, but Darby also called to check on us soon after we got home to see how we were doing, and she was again a great help. We had not gotten my dad's post-op medication; Darby texted my dad's doctor and we had the medication my dad needed within the hour. I cannot say enough about Darby. She is kind, knowledgeable, professional, and patient. She made a very different situation so much better.
