I've just left an antepartum patient who has been struggling since the loss of twins at one year and 24 weeks and is now pregnant again with an uncertain prognosis. There have been concerns among the care staff about her current mental health and some SI tendencies, and I have been working with her on this front for a few days. The patient has a difficult time speaking up and asking for help since being admitted and stated today that she is "very grateful for the great nursing staff and that her best nurse (Darcy L) has gone out of her way to be present and supportive throughout a terribly scary time in her life." Please recognize Darcy for being the person this patient so desperately needed during this time in her life - and showing her she is worthy of being cared for.
