Daria is our fabulous case manager! She consistently goes above and beyond in our department, meeting the needs of our patients and assisting in obtaining what our patients need. Today was a beautiful and selfless example of that.
A mother delivered her baby at 22 weeks, which sadly was not viable. The mother, distraught, asked if she could have genetic testing done on the baby to possibly determine what caused her premature labor and subsequent delivery.
Daria, knowing this would be difficult to obtain insurance approval for, stayed late to jump through the hoops. She spent close to an hour on the phone with the insurance company and successfully obtained approval for the genetic testing to be completed. This will help put this mother's mind at rest for future pregnancies.
This is just one example of how Daria leads the way for our patients and goes above and beyond to meet their needs. Women's Services is incredibly lucky to have such an engaged professional on our team, who is always looking out for the patient.
