Daria & Amy provided the utmost compassion and care for one of our sweet babies in the NNICU. Daria and Amy chose this sweet infant to be their primary baby (which means they CHOSE to take care of her every time they worked). They ensured that their patient from cared for from the start of their life, even decorating their room with crafts for every holiday and other occasions. During the baby's final days, they dressed and swaddled the child in clothes and blankets they had purchased themselves and took pictures for her family to have. She looked so beautiful. They held her, rocked her, sang to her…and took her outside to feel the sun for the very first and very last time in her life. She passed away in their arms, with words of love and courage being prayed over her. It was peaceful and she was not alone. They put their own lives on hold that day to make sure the end of her life was with dignity and filled with love. They truly embody what being a NNICU nurse is all about.
