My medications were changed in the night, and the pain meds weren't doing their job. I was in pain and became frustrated and snapped at Darian. She remained calm and patient with me in spite of me being a jerk. I then found out that after she left my room, she immediately made arrangements for me to have new, better nausea meds and pain management. She could've just left my sassy self lying in the bed, but she went above and beyond to help me even when I wasn't being so nice. Once my pain was under control, I profusely apologized to Darian because I was ashamed of my behavior. That evening, she also had another difficult patient. I could hear him giving her problems, but again, she remained calm and kind to him. I know that nursing is a demanding job, and it's not always easy. Darian went above and beyond to help me when I needed her, and I'm extremely thankful for her care!
