As surprising as it was, I found myself giving birth 2 months early and spending nearly 3 weeks in the NICU. Darlene stood out immediately as an exceptional nurse who embodies intelligence, compassion, and is a patient/visitor advocate. Never once when she was caring for our son was I concerned and fearful for his care. Darlene was able to explain everything simply and in ways that stressed out, new parents are able to understand. She instilled confidence in myself when moments felt overwhelming.
