I am inviting you to join me on behalf of unit 71 to acknowledge the exemplary attitude of Darlene Thomas, RN (IDS). As most of the staff in unit 71 would gladly testify, Darlene has always been an excellent team player whenever she is assigned to our floor.



This positive attitude was manifested to the optimum last Saturday, Oct. 24, when one of the three assigned nurses had a family emergency and only Darlene and I had to temporary care for the patients. She showed willingness to help, exhibited critical thinking skills and was proactive both in the execution of her duties and the offering of assistance with other duties.



Darlene was instrumental in keeping things under control until help arrived; I personally thanked her, but also, do feel her good work habit needs to be mentioned to the mangers of the Interdepartmental Services department. To me she epitomizes the model staff Emory Healthcare is continually striving to help all staff become.
