July 2021 Honoree
Darren Kenny, RN
My 6-year-old went into DKA (Diabetic ketoacidosis) and was diagnosed as a Type 1 Diabetic in our ER. It’s been such an emotional journey and throughout all of it, Darren has always made it a point to check on both my son and me. Since we found out, Darren has always given me $20 for my son to spend during our doctor's visits out of state. He wanted to help make the visit special and give my son something to look forward to. I am a single mom, so he would always ask if I needed gas money as well. It means so much to us that he took the time to think about us. Darren often displays this kind of continued commitment to care all while functioning as a house supervisor. He has a passion for patients and his co-workers. We are beyond thankful for everything he does.
Thank you, Darren, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
