Nevertheless, the ED team was able to effectively manage the situation as a result of Daryl's unwavering commitment to providing safe emergency medical care to our Veterans and his positive attitude.
The Emergency Department was exceedingly active on a particular day. All the 71 patients who checked into the emergency department were of high acuity. We were once caught in a significant traffic jam due to the fact that all of the available accommodations were taken. Nevertheless, the ED team was able to effectively manage the situation as a result of Daryl's unwavering commitment to providing safe emergency medical care to our Veterans and his positive attitude. The emergency department was able to achieve a zero Left Without Being Seen (LWOB) count as a result of his diligent efforts to ensure that patients were seen by providers from the waiting room and his ability to complete ED nursing interventions and assessments in an expedient manner. This is a significant achievement when there are numerous Veterans who are awaiting treatment for more than four hours in the waiting room.

Moreover, on a subsequent date, Daryl should be commended for his exceptional teamwork and for maintaining a high level of morale during an exceptionally busy evening at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He evaluated the patient and transferred them out of Speedtrack in a safe and secure manner. Subsequently, he returned to Main 2 and helped the patient with his exceptional demeanor and effective patient care. He is a role model for nursing, as he provided exceptional care to a diverse array of patients with varying levels of acuity without any anxiety. I want to ensure that his contributions are acknowledged; he is a valuable asset to the department.
