During my stay at Good Shepherd I was under the care of many fine nurses and techs. However, one nurse stood out during my stay. "Nurse Dave" as I called him, gave me the confidence to know that I was going to make it through, no matter what I was experiencing. His calm demeanor, his clear communication, and his control of my care were what I would hope all Good Shepherd nurses would aspire to provide for all patients.
The three nights I was under his care, I knew what to expect as far as care and any medical interventions that would be taking place. He informed me of all communication with my doctors, which gave me peace when I had no idea what to expect. Finally, his ability to keep me focused on my rest and healing helped me, even when I knew the rigors would soon return. And he knew when to deliver a well-needed bit of humor!
