The patient was a young gentleman from out of the country flying for business when he had an acute Medical Emergency deferring his flight to MSU airport and was taken to OMCK. The on-call Surgeon and care team proceeded to render emergent surgical care to the patient. Post-surgery and into discharge planning the patient was obviously without family or a support system to develop a safe POC. Despite efforts from the TN to secure information from the patient's company during daytime hours to plan accordingly the day ended without completion. In the evening hours under David's direction and his commitment to "Patients First" he was able to, through a Japanese translator, secure discharge POC through his colleagues and flight information. David worked persistently through the night arranging discharge information and communication with the patient and colleagues and stayed beyond his night shift to see his transportation needs were secured to the airport for a safe return home. The patient and his Japanese Base Company were greatly appreciative of the work David and the OMCK team performed on him and their commitment to his recovery.
