I had the privilege to work alongside David when he was assigned a Spanish-speaking-only patient who had recently had open heart surgery. I was in awe of the exceptional care he provided. Though the patient had a clear understanding of what his care consisted of, the nurse went the extra mile to ensure that his patient had a full understanding of what went on the two days that this patient was under his care. As a member of the Hispanic community, I was proud to witness an underserved patient population treated so well. He is the prime example of what all nursing staff should strive to be. He represents PeaceHealth's core values to the T.
