I was flown to Aspirus Wausau Hospital because of a large kidney stone and sepsis. They tell me I was extremely ill. I was intubated and given antibiotics intravenously. When I finally got to the point where I was able to talk, I was still in a world of nightmares and thought David was one alien abducting me. Unfortunately, I was less than kind to him. No matter what he said, I told him I didn’t believe him. He told me that it didn’t matter if I liked him or not, he was going to do his job and take care of me. To say I was a difficult patient is a gross understatement. In spite of that, David hung in there with me so that I am here today to thank him from the bottom of my heart. David is the embodiment of a respectful, compassionate, and knowledgeable nurse who truly helped save my life. Nothing I did or said caused him to lose his professional and compassionate behavior. Thank you, David, for everything. I am sorry I was such a beast.
