Naturally, a visit to the hospital is not expected to be a positive experience. Something has to be going wrong, which can be painful, scary, and otherwise pretty awful. However, my experience with David taught me just how much those negative things can be mitigated by someone who really cares.
Most of the people who took care of me during my visit were nice and did a great job, but David set the bar at a whole different level. First of all, he was excellent at his job. When he was on shift, my IV fluids were always well maintained, my pain was well managed, and I knew that if I needed anything I would be well taken care of. Not only that, but he was friendly in a way that goes above and beyond what one would expect. Just chatting with him whenever he would come by made me feel more at ease during my stay, which is certainly always helpful when someone is trying to get better from any kind of ailment. Furthermore, he extended the same kindness and warmth to my partner whenever he was visiting me, and my partner and I are in agreement that David is a truly exceptional nurse. Thanks so much!
