David's professionalism, empathy, and proactive approach have significantly improved our experience.
We just wanted to follow up to let you know what an excellent employee David is and how much he has helped us over the past 3 months. We know that all families think their patient is unique and needs special care. My husband was only the second patient under Dr. R to develop a tear during the surgery and lost 75% of his blood, requiring open-heart surgery. This situation may have led to some unusual complications. The only other patient in a similar situation under Dr. R did not survive, which makes his case even more exceptional. David has demonstrated several key qualities that set him apart: Patience and Communication.
He listens attentively and ensures that all our concerns are addressed. His timely responses to calls and emails have provided us with reassurance and clarity throughout the process. Problem-Solving Skills: When issues arose with his Medtronic pacemaker app, David took the initiative to check the app, reset the password, and stay on the phone with Medtronic until the problem was understood. This level of involvement will ensure that the monitoring system is back up and running, giving us peace of mind.
Our first concern early in the summer was his elevated pulse rate of 105-110. David talked with Dr. B and assured us this was normal after valve replacement surgery as the heart adjusted. Our second concern was during our appointment with J, we were told he had AFib 8% of the time. J informed us that the Medtronic app hadn't transmitted data for months. J also printed out a list of the incidents with date, time and length. J told us that we needed to address the app and parameters with Medtronic. Since we had attempted unsuccessfully to contact Medtronic multiple times, David stayed on the phone with us and helped with the questions. The printout revealed 278 incidents, with 56 occurring recently. There were significant incidents.
One incident lasted 5.5 hours. Two days later there were 23 incidents. At what point is a blood thinner usually prescribed to prevent stroke? Additionally, David took the lead last Tuesday in ensuring that C's pacemaker incidents are being properly tracked with parameters defined by his history.
We are still concerned if there was a gap in monitoring when there was only one incident each month. Since we live in Oak Ridge, my husband stayed in Nashville until Sunday incase follow-ups were needed. We left messages hoping to get an updated incident printout to determine if he needed additional attention.
Dr. R prescribed a blood thinner to prevent stroke. We feel more at ease knowing that David will follow up with the necessary transmission parameters from the pacemaker to the doctor's office.
I just need reassurance that my husband's incidents are being monitored with the correct parameters. After talking with the device specialist, we decided to stick with the cellphone app instead of the monitor to ensure continuous tracking.
Additionally, David is taking the lead in ensuring that my husband's pacemaker incidents and parameters are properly tracked. His persistence in obtaining and reviewing reports allowed us to better understand his condition and take necessary actions. In conclusion, David's professionalism, empathy, and proactive approach have significantly improved our experience. He has consistently gone above and beyond his role.
