Dave made our stay better in every way. He made us laugh, kept our minds at ease, and kept our boys safe and happy. His attention and love for our boys is what makes him so amazing.
Only a few hours after our boys, T and P, were born, we met Dave Newton, who was going to be our NICU nurse for the next three days. We were very nervous about the entire process and having our boys in the NICU and not in the room with us during our stay. When we met and talked with Dave, he reassured us and calmed our nerves, not just through his words but through his actions. He talked us through every update, setback, progression, and question I had. Dave not only explained everything well, but he showed us how much he cared about our boys by the way he talked to them, soothing them, and interacting with them through their tests, diaper changes, and touch time. Dave was with us for three days in a row, which made us so happy and comfortable. We know any time we were not in the room, he was there not only caring for them but ensuring they were comfortable, happy, and wearing their favorite hats. I wore a Seattle Seahawks beanie every day and Dave not only noticed this but found a matching hat that our T could wear to match Dad. This hat became known as his "10-gallon hat" that he always had with him, something we will never forget. Dave made our stay better in every way. He made us laugh, kept our minds at ease, and kept our boys safe and happy. His attention and love for our boys is what makes him so amazing. We will never forget what Dave did for us and our boys the first three days of their lives and the first three days of parenthood for us. Thank you, Dave.
