A patient was in the hospital for over 100 days. During this period of time, the patient's son was celebrating his 10th birthday. David took it upon himself to order a birthday cake, balloons, and a small present for the patient to celebrate her son's birthday. David also arranged for the son's favorite hospital meal to be delivered for their celebration lunch together. With the patient's room decorated, both the mother and son were brought to tears of joy that they were able to celebrate this occasion together despite her stay in the hospital. David took the time to demonstrate compassion and put together a heartfelt birthday celebration.
