March 2023 Honoree
David Osborn, RN
The back of this brochure lists characteristics. David had each one of those while caring for my Mom. My mom is very hard of hearing and he went beyond to make sure she knew what he was saying. He didn't just say, "Here is your insulin," he made sure she understood what he was doing.
I also noticed how respectful he was not to just my mom and our family but to his co-workers from the CNA to the doctors. Communication skills are great. He would explain things so you would understand. He was my mom's nurse for 3 days and he felt like family. Nursing is definitely his calling. My mom has had several medical conditions over the past 20 years, many times staying here at Baxter, but also at other hospitals; we have had some good nurses, but David to date is above all the rest. I could go on and on but I believe you get it. He has all the qualities on this brochure. I ask that you please give him consideration for the DAISY Award because he is an extraordinary nurse.
P.S. Even when he came back to work after his days off and wasn't our nurse he asked about her when I saw him in the hall.
