David Pawlik is an absolutely amazing nurse. He was compassionate, resourceful, knowledgeable, caring, and extremely kind to my mother during her stay. He was her biggest advocate and gave her extraordinary care.

The biggest compliment I can give, if you didn’t know any better, you would have thought he was caring for his own mother. My mom was recently diagnosed with leukemia. I had to rush her to the hospital on a Sunday, and we stayed in the ER for the first 24 hours. The Stem Cell Unit was kind enough to take her, as there was no room for her on the leukemia floor.

My mom was having tremendous pain due to her marrow in her back being affected by the leukemia. He treated her like gold. I stayed with my mom overnight, and he was absolutely wonderful with her, all while answering my questions with kindness, empathy, and care.

My mom also went through steroid psychosis while she was there, and he treated her with such kindness and compassion while she was experiencing confusion and was extremely upset. He stayed with her and comforted her until she felt better. Honestly, I was very distraught watching my mom’s personality change to something it had never been, and he comforted me and explained exactly what was going on.

He reached out to the doctors immediately and got the testing completed right away so we could diagnose the issue quickly. As terrible and daunting as this situation is for my mom and our family, David made it feel so much better. You can tell he takes great pride in his job and loves what he does.

I will be extremely grateful to him for the rest of my days. If we ever have to go back into the hospital, I would be honored to have him as my mom’s nurse. His compassion and care are second to none.
