Dave is top notch. As his SHINE preceptor and now charge RN, this nurse has shown great growth. Dave is the epitome of MaineGeneral’s values and standards. Every single patient he encounters is given empathy and compassion. Dave exceeds expectations. He is always going above and beyond his call of duty-he goes out of his way to assist others on his team-from ED techs, Nurses/Providers; and other ancillary departments. He ensures the most professional, compassionate, and safe care to every patient, every time. He takes time to listen to his patients and family members, accurately and completely assessing his patients, and reports any abnormal findings immediately to the providers. He thoroughly explains all care to help put patients at ease ensuring they feel safe in his care. Dave’s soft-spoken, calm, and professional ways truly shine with critical patients. There is never a doubt in my mind that he doesn’t ever have a situation under control. There is never a negative comment or complaint that is heard from Dave. He takes what comes his way in positive stride. Dave is the first to jump to help another member of the team. He truly is the best. We are so lucky to not have him only caring for our patients but to be such a treasured member of the team.
