On a busy afternoon in the ED, we received a trauma call. David stepped in to interpret and help without any hesitation, despite not being assigned as the patient's primary RN. With David's clinical expertise and knowledge, he was able not only provide critical care but emotional support for a non-English speaking patient that suffered significant traumatic injuries. He provided reassurance to the patient and their family that we were here to help and ultimately saved his life.
With David's help, we were able to assess for a brain injury by completing a thorough assessment, calm him down, and ultimately this avoided intubation. After establishing an excellent rapport with the patient and family, David assumed care as primary RN, providing excellent continuity of care. David is a shining example of teamwork by going above and beyond for our patients and our community. We are proud to have him on our ED team!
