David Smith, RN BSN, is a consistent volunteer for all of the community activities we do at Memorial Meadows Hospital. He assisted in the transport of the food donations for the annual food drive by securing a U-Haul trailer. This helped relieve our hospital staff from transporting all the items themselves. He also did the very same thing for our Christmas toy collection for children in need within our community. He is a valuable team member, always willing to go above and beyond to assist his fellow colleagues. In addition to these two special occasion events, his daily work as the patient safety officer for Meadows keeps him out and visible to our patients and staff. He is always willing to help when a nursing unit is busy and needs help during our surge times. He is the first to volunteer for our engagement committee activities and assist in set up and clean up. For these reasons, we are honoring David with The DAISY Nurse Leader Award.
