David even cleaned the home of the veteran because the veteran did not have natural supports who could help, did not qualify for chore services, and did not have the funds to pay for cleaning services out of pocket
The purpose of this narration is to acknowledge David Tanji from HUD/VASH. David is an "angel" to many veterans and known to go above and beyond his role. He is always willing to help his fellow co-workers and veterans. He has never once said "no" when I asked for his assistance.
One of the veterans on my caseload had an infection and was getting discharged from a community hospital. The hospital refused to provide antibiotics as the veteran did not have insurance to cover it. David coordinated with PACT doctor and delivered the antibiotics and other medications to the veteran who was temporarily staying in Kailua. Another example is what David did for another one of the veterans on my caseload. The veteran was being discharged home from a major surgery and almost passed shortly after the surgery. When David found out about the discharge, David checked on veteran frequently throughout the week. David even cleaned the home of the veteran because the veteran did not have natural supports who could help, did not qualify for chore services, and did not have the funds to pay for cleaning services out of pocket. David stated he wanted to help veteran so veteran could have "dignity" in the midst of having health issues.
