David was right there giving Dad the biggest hug with tears in his eyes too. It was such a beautiful moment.
Our father was a patient on 3 Anderson for over a week before being transferred to another unit. Dad was given a terminal diagnosis during his stay and was devastated. So many different doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, etc. were involved and it felt like a whirlwind at times.

David was our Dad’s nurse for several days; he was so compassionate and loving to our Dad and us. I have never seen someone bond with our Dad so fast. David was always fast to respond; he took the time to really be there for us--not just getting things done for the sake of doing them. He was genuinely invested in our care and I say our care because David made it a point to take care of us--not just our father.

One thing that bothered Dad the most was spending a lot of time in bed. David was the one who took the time to work with him and get him standing up. My Dad sobbed with joy when he was finally able to stand up for the first time in weeks. David was right there giving Dad the biggest hug with tears in his eyes too. It was such a beautiful moment.

David came to check on Dad and us whenever he was working even if he wasn’t Dad's nurse on those particular shifts. David was so smart and explained things in such a helpful way which made all the difference for us. He relayed all of our questions and concerns to the medical team quickly and advocated for our father like no one else ever had.

We had such a wonderful experience because of David; we really love what he did for us and our father. He went above and beyond our expectations for our father’s care and we will always remember that. When our Dad was transferred, he asked if David could come with him because he didn’t want anyone else to be his nurse. We were all teary-eyed when we parted our ways. That was short-lived though because David would come to visit Dad even after he transferred to another unit. The smile that lit up Dad's face every time David walked in the room was radiant. David is THE nurse I want to take care of anyone I love or care about. He is thoughtful, compassionate, intelligent, and a genuinely great nurse. What a blessing he is to those who have him as their nurse--an angel, a true angel.
