I am a co-worker at Mercy, and I wanted to take this opportunity to recognize one of your Emergency Department Nurses. I brought my husband to the emergency room and my husband is a complicated case. We spend many hours at hospitals. He had a lung transplant 3 years ago and will be getting another one shortly.
Throughout the years, I have worked with many people and met many nurses. However, David Womack stood out as a co-worker and a nurse whose commitment is excellence. I admire his strong work ethic and personal integrity. David tapped into my husband's despair and spoke man-to-man with him and provided encouragement and most of all Faith. My husband feels beat down these days and needed a man-to-man conversation with encouragement. David took his hand and we all prayed. I am sure it wasn't much for this nurse, but he needs to know it meant the world to us. Our nurse is the reason I am so proud I am a Mercy co-worker.
