Davis Houle

Davis is an outstanding nurse intern. He is eager to learn and be a part of new situations. He is exemplary of being a patient advocate. He takes the extra time to sit down with the patient and listen to their stories and concerns. In doing so, he promotes this great rapport with his patients, making them feel understood and involved in their own plan of care, promoting patient autonomy. He is never shy to reach out to the providers and collaborate with other interdisciplinary team members when he notices a change in his patients that needs to be addressed.

One family we were working with, in particular, pulled me aside to express their gratitude for his caring and compassionate manner. They shared that they felt thoroughly heard by Davis, something that they had not felt with their providers during that stay. They were able to confide their concerns in him and feel comfortable that they were getting the best possible care by having Davis a part of their healthcare team. They also pulled our nursing manager into the room to express the same shared with me. I am so proud to be his preceptor and be there to watch him grow throughout his internship here.
