Oh gosh, where should I start? From the time Ms. Davnet walked into my room, she was respectful, kind, knowledgeable, and above all she seemed genuinely concerned about my health. She took the time to listen when I needed to talk. She would check on me when I felt alone. Her work ethic is unmatched. Ms. Davnet has great communication skills as she would greet all my loved ones who came to visit me and would even open up the floor and encourage any anxious family members to ask questions that they had about my health or even sickle cell in general. I can recall a doctor coming into my room to discuss MRI results which was not the best news. As I started to cry with frustration, it's like God sent her to my room to visit me. Ms. Davnet stepped between the doctor and me and asked if she could hold my hand. It felt as if she felt my pain or knew my story. Her loving hands held me as she spoke to me calmly explaining into more detail what was going on and how failure is not an option, this was nothing more than a test of faith. Ms. Davnet's presence was priceless. It was a genuine moment of empathy she shared with me, even praying for me as I cried and cried until the pain started to ease. This moment I will never forget in a million years. Ms. Davnet is truly a great soul, a God-fearing woman, a nurse with 20+ years of experience who showed great empathy for me and my family. My great grandmother felt so good about Ms. Davnet's presence as my entire family did as well. Reflecting over my time here, I can say from the bottom of my heart Ms. Davnet has and will always hold a place in my heart. I admire, respect, and appreciate my nurse more than anything. My only wish or hope is that somebody, somewhere, or somehow will appreciate her as much as I did. She is an angel walking on earth, God bless Ms. Davnet and the entire hospital. "Care for one...that's love. Care for hundreds...that's nursing."
