I transported my adult cancer patient son to the Emergency Room at St. Francis Hospital suffering from extreme back pain. After triage, he was placed in the care of Davy Adams, who provided care for approximately 5 hours. Davy Adams was able to quickly provide caring, professional, compassionate attention to reduce his anxiety and start medical testing. Observing her for the time we were there, I was amazed at her unique ability to treat each patient as if they were the only ones she had in her care. Her teamwork with others on the staff was also above expectations as they were so busy, but you would never know it by her calm, caring interaction. We would like to make sure that Davy is recognized for turning a painful, scary event into quality care and reassurance for medical improvement.
