There have been times when I have been close to suicide (she doesn’t know this), but the time she put in with me and the things she said to me helped me not go that route.
Dawn was recognized by one of our Veterans. Write-up from our Veteran:

"Dawn has been my nurse for over 4 years. Dawn has gone above and beyond for me. She has never lost her patience with me. There have been times when I have been close to suicide (she doesn’t know this), but the time she put in with me and the things she said to me helped me not go that route. One time, she took me for a walk around the property. I was angry about something. She calmed me down and gave me advice I’ll never forget. Dawn is like a mom to me. The impact she has had on my life has been huge, and I appreciate her so much.

She demonstrates outstanding commitment and care. Her kindness and professionalism exemplify the highest standards in nursing, and I hope her contributions will be acknowledged accordingly.

From her supervisor:

Dawn has demonstrated exceptional dedication and versatility in meeting the needs of our organization over the past year. In response to organizational demands, she has seamlessly transitioned from her role as an outpatient mental health nurse to working with the Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MHRRTP). Dawn has shown remarkable flexibility by adjusting her schedule from a standard Monday through Friday arrangement to a rotating schedule, and consistently shows a willingness to come in extra when needed.

Dawn has undertaken numerous projects within the MHRRTP, significantly contributing to the streamlining of various processes and improving the organization of staff. Her efforts have greatly enhanced the team's understanding of the unit's needs, as well as their specific roles and responsibilities. In her time with the MHRRTP, Dawn has played a crucial role in orienting new staff to the unit's processes and procedures, ensuring a smooth integration and higher level of competence.

Moreover, Dawn has remained committed to maintaining direct, meaningful interactions with the Veterans we serve. She ensures that they feel safe and that their needs are effectively met, exemplifying the caring and supportive environment we strive to provide. Dawn's adaptability, willingness to take on additional responsibilities, and commitment to both her colleagues and the Veterans make her an invaluable asset to our organization.

Dawn, congratulations from the executive team. We are glad to have you as a member of our team.
