Dawn Burks, RN
It is hard to single out any individual nurse who sacrificed and dedicated their time, effort, skills, and knowledge for the care of my wife.
Dawn gave her time and listened to my wife's testimony of her struggle with Graves disease, which put her in the hospital to have her heart's mitral valve replaced. While in the ICU, my wife had seizures 15 hours after surgery, and I panicked.
I chose to nominate Dawn for the many hours she spent educating me and my wife about what it will take to care for her and get back to 100% when she goes home. Dawn also liked all our stories, did amazing things to comfort my wife when she needed her assistance to the bathroom, got medicine, and checked in on her like a mom.
