Dawn Chaffee, RN

I truly believe that Dawn deserves this award. Every time I work with her on the floor, I know it will be a good day! She understands the frustrations of the job but does a fantastic job of staying positive and professional, no matter the situation. Her knowledge that she brings to the table is vital in making the best choices for her patients as well as her coworkers.

When we had a patient in the BICU for quite some time, most people chose to go the easier path and interacted as minimally as possible. She always took the time to listen to them and do the most she was able to. She went above her call as a nurse and saw this patient as what they were, a kid. Since she took the extra time to listen to this patient, when the patient showed signs of having a meltdown, she would act fast before the behaviors endangered her coworkers or herself. She truly deserves this award for how far above and beyond she goes.
