My husband was admitted to Princeton Hospital on Thursday and was scheduled for a surgical intervention. We were warmly greeted as soon as we arrived in the morning by the person at the reception desk. While all of the nurses we encountered were very professional and accommodating, my husband was cared for by Dawn on the second shift of his stay. Dawn was the kind of nurse who I hope the students that I teach at Rutgers School of Nursing will become. I have been a nurse for over 40 years and am happy that there are still nurses like Dawn around. Not only was she very skilled, but she was also very compassionate to a person who was never sick or hospitalized. My husband was very nervous about the surgery and his immediate recovery, but Dawn helped him have an uneventful post-op recovery. Unfortunately, his stay became an overnight admission. Dawn was very reassuring and provided quality professional care. He was assessed well and she went above and beyond to make sure his care was comprehensive.
