Dawn helped us in December of 2022. My husband had a fever and began with signs of cellulitis in his foot. It was very busy and the lobby was packed when we arrived at UNC Rex Raleigh! We were triaged and put in a room, saw a doctor, an IV started and then we were asked to wait back in the lobby. Again, it was very busy!

On a side note, I am being treated for metastatic breast cancer and had chemotherapy that very morning. There were people coughing and I know people are not in the ER unless they are very sick. I asked if there was any place that was just a little less crowded as I had chemo that morning (my 3rd round) and if not that was totally okay but I would be very grateful if there was any corner that might be a little less crowded.

Dawn left and came back and said follow me. She brought my husband and I to a consult room out of the way and out of traffic. I cannot tell you how grateful we both were to get a small out of the way spot. Dawn went up and above to help us and I wanted to find a way to say thank you! We are grateful for your care and compassion! I would be so grateful if Dawn could be recognized for her caring and for going above and beyond on an extremely busy night in the ED. Her kindness will never be forgotten.
